Modern mysticism, contemplative precision.

What we mean by these phrases — and why we wrote them on the wall.

Modern mysticism

Reverence without superstition.

Mysticism, in its classical sense, is the discipline of paying attention. It is the long noticing, the willingness to sit with a symbol until it discloses something. The history of astrology, when read carefully, is a history of mystics who were also mathematicians, mathematicians who were also poets.

Modern mysticism, as Iovari uses the term, means: take the symbol seriously as a symbol, take the geometry seriously as geometry, and refuse to collapse one into the other. We do not predict the future. We do not say your Saturn return will end your marriage. We say: the geometry of this period will press on structure, agency, and limit; here's what that's looked like in your past Saturn-themed transits; here's the language you'll need.

Contemplative precision

Rigour as a form of care.

Precision is not the opposite of contemplation; it is the form contemplation takes when it survives contact with engineering. We log ephemeris versions. We version prompts. We cite every claim. Not because the metaphysics demands it, but because the reader does.

When Iovari says your sun is at 12°44' Leo, in the natal 4th, ruled by the Sun in domicile, applying square to a transiting Pluto, every clause has a coordinate. You can audit it. You can disagree with the interpretation, but you can never accuse Iovari of being vague about the chart.

Mysticism without precision is sentiment. Precision without mysticism is bureaucracy. We refuse both.

Lineage

Whose astrology, exactly?

Iovari ships with seven preset strategies, each tuned to a tradition: Modern Psychological (post-Jungian, Liz Greene–adjacent), Hellenistic Traditional (Brennan-adjacent, with sect and bounds), Evolutionary (Forrest, Jeffrey Wolf Green), Vedic Lite (sidereal, dasha-aware), Cosmobiology (Ebertin, midpoints), Uranian (TNPs and pictures), and Quick-Take (modern psychological, no jargon).

You can pick one and stay in it. You can build your own. You can run the same chart through three of them on Pro and read them side by side. The traditions disagree with each other; we don't paper over that. We just make it legible.
